Any guesses as to where it's going next? Any thoughts? Likes or dislikes?

Let me give you some story notes:

The first part of Above Ground ever written was the scene in Chapter 2 where the weres transform on stage and Lilith is horrified and sickened by the screaming and snapping of bones. This was actually a (really freaky!) dream I had. Yes, I am inspired by dreams. I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I wrote that scene down and kind of forgot about it.

A few weeks later I found an old short story I had written, where someone who lives underground is terrified of the world above but wants to see it despite there being weird monsters. It instantly clicked in my brain that the two could work together.

These first 12 chapters have been me running on that steam of inspiration, exploring and learning about the world as I write it. I've had a lot of fun creating all the different races!

As for future updates? I can say that the second half of the story will be based entirely on a novel I began writing and abandoned after 30,000 words (the rather unfortunately titled CAVES OF AWENA). As I started plotting ahead in Above Ground I realized that I could recycle all my plot ideas from COA and... ta dah! Yay.

Since then I've decided to use Above Ground as my recycling bin of sorts. Any idea, however silly, that I want to write about somewhere, will end up in there.

Don't think of it as a recycling bin. Think of it as gumbo. :D

I would if I had a slow cooker, that'd probably make things easier. I live in a basic student flat, though - overly complicated cooking is a chore!

Aah. I have a husband who learned to cook in self-defense, so I've never made stew myself, either. But it's such a good use of a cheap cut of beef!

    Oops! We've gone off-topic.

Any further stew conversations should be moved over to the socializing forum! I have changed the recipe thread title to recipes & food - talk about stew there. :)
