A lot of talking. I know. I ended up having to cut it early (I was planning on ending the chapter with Lilith's arrival in town, but noooooo they needed to chat about Rae and Silver needed to have his freak out).</p> <p>I wanted to show Lilith's growing inner inconsistencies. She can't help but think of the others as people, yet in her mind she's trying to convince herself they're not. She doesn't want to relate to them... In the darkest corner of her mind she's wondering what it'd be like if she was stuck above ground forever, and the thought terrifies her.</p> <p>And so she's acting out a little. Kind of stupidly, but there you go. </p>
